Researchers find uses for old coffee

Italian researchers say the leftover dregs from the estimated 70 million cups of coffee that are made daily in Italy could be used to fuel stoves and boilers.

The researchers said the coffee dregs can be converted into a “clean” organic fuel for the appliances, ANSA reported Friday.

Even though I’ve cut my two pot a day habit down to a couple of half-cafs, I can still drool over the good stuff:

On May 29, at around 6:30 pm Eastern time, the program that runs the Best of Panama auction website stopped functioning unexpectedly. The bid price for this year’s top Panamanian coffee was stuck on $99.99 per pound.
